[He's not sure what he'll see and if it'll help. What he really needs is like... five minutes to let this all sink in. But he's too confused to tell her 'no' either.]
Okay um... so... let's... start with my form I use to protect the earth! [It was easier to transition from Sailor Moon to Serenity than Usagi to Serenity, not that she COULDN'T but Usagi is always about easiest path.
[He would like an A for Effort, if nothing else. Atsushi hasn't seen anyone transform with an ability. At least not like that. But it isn't a stretch and it is easier to accept than some other things. The fact that she's a goddess still has his head spinning, but he's catching on.]
Oh... Okay. I-I mean... I don't mind that, honestly. Has someone told you that being a goddess reincarnated is wrong..? [What is he missing here?]
Hmm? Oh no no, not wrong. More... just, no one has really CALLED me a magical girl before... which is so funny because it's one of my favorite manga genres. [She shook her head.]
I guess it's time for the second part.
[Here, she closed her eyes and the shift eas instantaneous. She went from Sailor Moon to Serenity, her moon and skin glowing brighter, her hair a soft silver. She radiated power and light.]
This is the form I will eventually, I suppose you could say, return to.
[With her second transformation, the 'goddess' bit is beginning to click. Atsushi cannot claim to have met any deity or even felt their presence at a shrine, but he's sure it would feel like this. The way she radiates power and light is like facing the moon itself. If he weren't so mesmerized by the feeling of a goddess' presence, he might worry about her triggering his own transformation.
Actually. Has he mentioned that to her?]
Usagi-san, I uh. Honestly? I still don't fully understand. [He gives his head an apologetic shake,] But I don't think it's bad to be a reincarnated goddess. Is there something about it that worries you?
I don't think it's bad that I am either. I am Princess Serenity, and with time, I will be Neo-Queen Serenity. But that's for later. It's not that I'm worried about being a goddess or princess or any of that... except that there are those who are after me, after my powers and abilities and me in general.
Those people? They would have absolutely no problem hurting you to get to me, or to use you to get to me. I don't want you hurt because of that.
[Atsushi falls silent. Not because her words frighten him (though, he does note that he probably should be more worried,) but because they’re familiar. It wasn’t very long ago that there was a bounty on his head and Atsushi was trying to cut ties to protect people.]
Ah, sorry. I got thinking. [That silence was awkward!]
To be honest, I haven’t told you everything either... But at least on my end, I don’t think those are reasons to leave. Shouldn’t those be reasons that I stay? I’ll be here to help watch your back, so you can relax more..?
It... you want to protect me? [She blushed, which, with how pale she was, made it stand out all the more.]
I don't- those people are very dangerous, Atsushi. I don't want to frighten you away, I like you staying here. But I would never forgive myself if something happened to you. Some of them do know me as Sailor Moon, some of them know that Usagi Tsukino and Princess Serenity are one and the same.
That’s their fault. It doesn’t mean that you deserve to live here all by yourself.
[Atsushi can feel himself getting a bit flustered. Maybe that’s the wrong thing to say? She doesn’t think he doesn’t trust her judgment, does she? Or that he doesn’t think she can handle living alone. Maybe he does? Ugh, his head is too confusing even for himself right now.]
I’m not normal either. I’m... I’m a weretiger. I transform on the full moon... I was planning to stay away during that time, but... I mean, the point! Is that I can protect myself too. You don’t need to worry about me.
More importantly, are you comfortable having me here? You’re not going to be stressed out?
That's amazing you- ah! Is- I mean, I know I'm not the full moon but- [Well, she's a literal source of moonlight and all that.] I'm not making it difficult for you, am I?
And no, I am actually quite glad you're here, Atsushi. I didn't like living alone all those months. I would invite people over but I never really knew how to just say "come live with me" since they had been settled for so long...
Now that you mention it... [He looks at his hands, but he doesn’t even have paws or anything weird like that,] I seem to be okay..?
[What does that mean about his power? Atsushi decides to think about it later. Usagi is right in front of him and she sounds so lonely.]
Then... If you really don’t mind, then I’d like to stay. I didn’t really like living alone either. Guess it’s lucky we found each other when we did, huh?
[He’s embarrassed to admit to just how nice that sounds. Being stuck with someone is what he’s wanted. Even if the people he’s met in Deerington are incredibly kind, it was so lonely to stay in an empty house.]
2/2
[Whooaaa that was a lot! He's still trying to process it all, but he's figured one thing out:]
I think this conversation is just starting? Goddess? Reincarnated-- You died?! [oh no!]
no subject
So uh... it might... might be easier to show you.
no subject
[He's not sure! Seeing is believing, but something tells him that he's only going to be more confused.]
I-I'm trying to understand, promise! You're... A goddess of the moon. I'm... living with a moon goddess.
[Atsushi does see the irony in a weretiger, who changes under moonlight, living with THE MOON INCARNATE.]
no subject
I think... I think yeah, I should maybe... just show you.

[He's not sure what he'll see and if it'll help. What he really needs is like... five minutes to let this all sink in. But he's too confused to tell her 'no' either.]

She lifted her hand into the air.]
Silver Moon Crystal Power!

The gears in his head are turning.]
... A magical girl? [He has read manga, but is he living one now?]
no subject
Well, I am magical and a girl, so yes, I suppose that's true.

[Atsushi tries to be nice, sure, but he isn't always sure that it sticks.]
Thank you, Usagi-san. Let's try to make the best out of this town, kay?
Wrap?
Wrap!
Right. You too. [He beams,] We’re a team now.
